| Ebenezer Baptist Church, a historic institution of more than six hundred members located near downtown Austin, is dedicated to the service of God including a tradition of excellence in congregational ministry and community involvement. We are now seeking the services of an energized, creative, and Spirit-filled individual to lead our congregation as Pastor. The position offers the opportunity and challenge of building upon a legacy of spiritual and intellectual excellence with a caring, community focus. We invite applications from individuals with the vision and Spirit-filled preparation to lead this congregation into the next phase of Christian growth and development, and to enhance our current program while introducing innovative outreach services to the congregation and community. |

| JOB DESCRIPTION |
| Purpose |
To provide spiritual leadership of the congregation; provide a rich,comprehensive, growth-oriented worship and learning environment that emphasizes spread of the Gospel message to the people within and outside of Ebenezer; promote adherence to Baptist Doctrine.

| Skill Set |
Gifted teacher and Servant Leader with personal vision and a well-developed corporate vision for the future growth and development of the church with particular emphasis on youth and young families while also nurturing the more senior population; An effective communicator of well-prepared Sermons and a captivating preacher of the Gospel; An encourager at heart and a promoter of the spiritual revival of the church body; Additionally, an emphasis on evangelism with an organized program of community outreach.

| Education |
Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctor's Degree (Seminary or Non-Seminary – Some Seminary Training Preferred). |

| Experience |
More than five years prior pastoral experience. |

| REQUIREMENTS |
| Spiritual |
Teach and preach the Gospel and exemplify Christ-likeness; Lead worship services while encouraging stewardship and mission support (local and world).

|
| Pastoral |
Lead and educate members. Counsel members and visit the sick and shut in. Be approachable and open to consideration of ideas from the membership.
|
| |
|
| Outreach |
Organize and educate members in witnessing to others. Provide leadership through planning and implementing regular outreach and revival activities.
|
| |
|
| Administrative |
Serve as Presider of the Church Council and as an ex-officio, non-voting member of all church auxiliaries, ministries and committees. Serve as administrator of church programs and ministries by facilitating communication and recommending appropriate ministries/programs to the appropriate persons. Give support to the church budget and plan a Monthly/Yearly Church Calendar. Lead by example. Interact with Deacons and Trustees to address concerns of the church membership.
