Position Description: The Executive Director serves as coordinator and Chief Operations Officer of the Ebenezer Child Development Center and is responsible for daily operations and conveying the philosophy and mission of the Center.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure efficient and professional day to day operations
• Recruit, maintain and provide for continued professional development/ certification training for competent staff
• Ensure strict adherence to requirements of NAEYC accreditation
• Ensure contract monitoring and compliance; review and process annual contract renewals
• Provide timely reports to the Board of Directors and all funding agencies
• Monitor parental fee collections and deposits; develop and monitor annual budget
• Initiate and coordinate proposal and grant writing; assist in identifying additional funding sources
• Provide building maintenance oversight; ensure adherence to all required city/state/federal safety codes
• Monitor employees’ and property insurance benefits
• Ensure maintenance of professional administrative licensure for all designated personnel
Supervision: The Executive Director reports directly to the Ebenezer Child Development Center Board of Directors and directly supervises all staff and contract compliance
Qualification Requirements:
• Must have at least a Baccalaureate Degree with at least twenty-four (24) credit-bearing hours of specialized college-level course work in early childhood education, child development, elementary education or early childhood special education that addresses child development and learning from birth through kindergarten
• Must be knowledgeable of NAEYC required policies and procedures for child care programming
• Must have at least two (2) years experience as Director, Assistant Director, or program administrator in a NAEYC accredited program or licensed child care center working to achieve NAEYC accreditation; and must have at least three (3) years experience working as a teacher in an accredited child care center
• Must have financial management experience
• Must have demonstrated ability in managing a team of staff, and performing effectively with minimum supervision
• Must be able to successfully interface through oral and written communications with Board of Directors, funding agencies, parents, faculty, children, and community groups
• Must be able to effectively prepare reports
Desired:
• Non-profit grant writing ability and experience
• Participation in relevant professional organizations
