Mission:
The Legal Ministry will engage in activities that provide to members and the community helpful information that relates to Civil matters in and out of the Justice system. The Ministry will also attempt to bring people to God through its legal work.
 
Organization Activities:
  • Provide Seminars on the following Probate issues:
    • Wills (Probate with a Will, or Wills with Codicils, or Probate without a Will);
    • Affidavits of Heirship;
    • Clearing titles to property
  • Write legal articles in the Church Newsletter, and on leaflets placed in the Church Bulletin about new laws that members should be aware of;
  • Provide, through Seminars, information on maintaining adequate Auto, Life, and Homeowners Insurance;
  • Provide, through Seminars, information on property tax issues vital to members and to the community;
  • Act as a referral agency for legal services when requested by members;
  • Provide, through Seminars, information regarding Guardianships and Powers of Attorney, both general and medical;
  • Offer career information on law and law enforcement to the young people of the church.

The Legal Ministry is currently considering setting aside some time at the church for members to meet with a member of the Committee to discuss personal legal matters.

 
Meeting Schedule:

There are no regularly scheduled meetings for the Legal Ministry. It operates by call meetings or by conference calls.
